Growth through acquisitions, it seems so easy. Yet, the majority of acquisitions fail. Just because an acquisition was made at a “great price” does not mean it was, or will be, a successful acquisition. The real test of a successful deal is whether the acquisition met or exceeded your goals and objectives. There are many reasons for mergers that make tremendous business sense.

Many Buyers look for the best possible price, and although this is important, we believe that the success of the transaction is more important. Did the acquisition meet, or exceed, the goals of the buyer? Was the return on investment appropriate for the level of risk assumed? Were the anticipated synergies realized? Because we are first and foremost a consulting firm, we have the skill set necessary to analyze prospective acquisition targets to determine the “real” opportunity. Again, it is not the “deal” that is important to us, it is your success.

We believe the cost of a failed acquisition is extremely expensive. The purchase “price” is just a portion of the actual “cost” of a transaction. We strive to minimize all costs associated with the acquisition process, including transaction and integration costs. We also focus on the deal structure, which we believe is absolutely critical in maximizing the return on your investment while minimizing the risk of the deal. Many times, because of our expertise, we can solve the seller’s issues at a lower overall cost to the buyer.
